Despite the absence of charges, Wallace faced other challenges, including potential eviction from her subsidized apartment due to its “gun-free” policy. Attorney Mark Melton provided pro-bono defense for Wallace in the eviction case, ultimately resulting in its dismissal. Additionally, support from individuals like State Rep. Carrie Isaac helped alleviate some of the pressure on Wallace and her family.
